A wonderfully honest and reflective post, Camilla. Speaking from the perspective of someone who had read some of the chapters of your book through Substack — I think it would be wonderful to see your book out in the world.
I also really liked the idea of the publisher/authors/agent/editor thing being about finding the right match, that’s very interesting.
Congrats, Camilla! The world needs your voice and beautiful work! (And I want to toss my little vote out for the possibility of self-publishing. I love that that's even an option for us nowadays, it feels so inclusive to me.)
Thanks so much for your kindness and generosity Jenna, and right back to you too - the world needs your voice and beautiful work too!💖🙏 and re self-publishing, yes we're lucky to have that option, but I do love the idea of working with a publisher to get this book out into the world in physical-book-form✨🌟💖🙏🕊️
You have a clear and direct way of writing, Camilla, and your empathy with yourself and others really draws me. I would love to see your book out in the world!
Thanks so much for your kind words and support Priya! I love that you feel empathy for myself and others shines through my writing. As you know I love reading your writing too. I have so much gratitude for the way Substack has allowed a space for writers to connect!✨🌟💖🙏🕊️
You had me with the "Buddhists Monks next door." Those words add such intrigue to your title. I can't wait to read your book. Hi Camilla, I am also in the Your Story Matters group. I'm there for the same reason you are with different bits missing. I've written and self-published a memoir of my experience with a workshop I've been facilitating sing 1986. But now need to get a book out that teaches others how and why they should create their own groups of meditation and visual expression as a spiritual practice. Meanwhile, I've designed and produced many books for my friends that are available on Amazon. I need to get beyond that. I look forward to hearing more of your experience as we go along. May we both get our needed bits. Sincerely, (Ms.) Cameron Sesto cameronart.com
Hi Cameron, nice to meet you in this space🥰 and lovely to see your artwork on your website. Thanks so much for your kind words about my book. I love the idea for your new book too, for people to "create their own groups of meditation and visual expression as a spiritual practice." Thanks for reading!✨🌟💖🙏🕊️ p.s. I will reach out to you through FB regarding the possibility of collaborating about what we're learning in the class.
