Yes to writing from the Divine Feminine! To interconnectedness, to heartfelt and generous and authentic writing, to letting the creative work flow through us and into the world. Thank you for this reminder of why and how I write, Camilla, and for the recommendation of the Beth Kempton book, which I will order from my fabulous local bookstore, Paonia Books, after I move! Many blessings to you, and good wishes for the book proposal.
This has been a nourishing read. I love Oates image of being the garden hose. I hadn’t fully appreciated the distinction between ECO and EGO that was helpful to see visually. I am learning to listen and trust and to write from that basis.
There is so much needed wisdom in this post I had to take it in twice. ❤️ I had not recalled the Dalai Lama statement from 2009. Do you know where I might be able to find it? Also, your statement about internalized patriarchy in corporate resonated deeply, though in my case it is as a scientist. I’m still unraveling this, and the journey is fascinating. Thanks for helping bring these things to light.
Wow, Andrea, your comment is deeply meaningful to me. Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know your response.
And yes, after working for 20 years in the corporate world in NYC I needed to bring the Inner Patriarch into my conscious awareness too. "The Shadow King: The Invisible Force That Holds Women Back" by Sidra Stone, PhD was very helpful to me with that process.
These links point towards that 2009 Peace summit, but I can't find a transcript. If you find one, please do share.
Thank you so much for sharing these resources. I had not heard of the shadow king book. I will check it out, and will surely let you know if I come across the Dalai Lama transcript.
Fabulous. So glad you’re highlighting this wonderful book by Beth Kempton. I’m making my way through it with plenty of doggy-eared pages and a pen for underlining.
And hello! Happy to meet another kindred spirit who is called to do this work of lifting the sacred feminine in the world. 🫶✨
Hello Patricia, thanks for reading, commenting and being here! I continue to re-read and listen repeatedly to the audio edition as Beth shares so much wisdom. So glad to hear you resonate with Beth's work too♥️🙏🕊️
Yes to this Camilla 😃 I was musing on this today, as I tackled chapter summaries and found they flowed out of my fingertips as if they were already fully formed... I didn't have to stop and think or plan. It took me by surprise. There are definitely forces at play outside of the thinking mind!
Hi Vicki, thanks so much for reading, commenting, and being here! I'm so looking forward to witnessing all of our books come into physical form. I'm grateful for the FB group as a way we can all stay connected, and I love how Sarah Mckenzie-Thane started that thread for us to share our Substacks so we can follow each other here on Substack too. So enriching and fun to share this journey together♥️🙏🕊️
Thanks so much for being here and for commenting, my (new) writer friend too Kimberly🥰 I'm so happy and grateful we've connected through Beth's class♥️🙏🕊️
I often think of something Beth said, maybe even in the book you have shown and quoted, that she doesn't put a schedule on her essays here, that they are done when they are done. I am paraphrasing. Anyway, that has been my experience, and it also my experience, often, that when I allow things to take the time they need I seem to be more receptive whatever that magic is that flows through. I tend to think of it as Awen, which might be connected to the Divine Feminine in my culture of origin. Loved this, Camilla. Thank you!
Thanks for commenting Kateri - and yes, perhaps it's all comes back to balance😉♥️🙏🕊️
p.s. I just Googled Awen, and love this: "Awen is a Welsh, Cornish, and Breton word that generally means "inspiration," particularly poetic inspiration. In Welsh mythology, awen is seen as the source of inspiration for poets (bards) and is also personified as the muse of creative artists. It's often associated with the flow of creative energy and a connection to truth."
I often catch myself thinking about ways to ‘get more writing done’ or ‘how to grow my readership’ and other such nonsense where I’m expecting myself to do more, faster, better, stronger… hahaha.
And then, I remember I’m not really doing it. The muse is guiding me, speaking through me, nudging me along. And who the hell am I to rush such a thing!?
Thank you Camilla. I really enjoyed this reflection on the different ways in which we can show up to our creative acts. You have a real knack for gently highlighting different approaches to creative work. :)
Hi Michael, thanks so much for your kind and generous words. I'm truly happy to hear that my "gently highlighting different approaches to creative work"🥰 is serving your creative process. And you'll never guess what (another moment of synchronicity 😁) I was listening to an Eckhart Tolle recording of a class I'm doing with him called Creating a New Earth, and someone asked a question about the Divine Feminine, and he spoke about it for quite some time. I was fascinated and thrilled that more and more people are becoming aware of the necessity to reclaim the energies of the divine feminine! Ecky spoke about it in terms of yin and yang energies too.♥️🙏🕊️
There is news in fact. I am going to do a little update post on it in a little while, as I also have a few other announcements that I might cram into that post. But there are some other posts lined up for before that, so I’ll give you the inside scoop Camilla. . .
Basically, all emojis have to approved by this regulatory board, and you have to apply to get an emoji approved, and someone applied to get a platypus emoji approved in 2022 but it was denied (for some ridiculous reason), and so, once an emoji is denied no one can submit another proposal to have it approved for four years — which means, in 2026, I will be submitting the next platypus emoji proposal and I will be submitting it with all guns a blazing. That’s the short version of the story anyway. But I’ll share a bit longer (and hopefully funnier) version in a few posts time. :)
Creativity is at the heart of the feminine mystery, and likewise Shakti moves us to be creative. I couldn’t agree more! And Sri Aurobindo said “If there’s a future it will wear a crown of feminine design.” 🩵🤎
I was just reading: Maureen Murdock: the Heroine’s Journey and thought you’d really enjoy it. She disagrees with Campbell. Unlike the male, The female has a nonlinear journey to wholeness. Some very interesting parts. Love your writing!
Thanks so much for your comment Cameron, it's very meaningful to me to hear you love my writing. And once again I love this moment of synchronicity. In the Introduction to the book I'm writing I discuss both Maureen Murdock's and Joseph Campbell's books. Stay tuned😁♥️🙏🕊️

Moving sucks, but this one will take me home, and that feels good. Blessings!
