Thank you both for this essay. I felt as though I slipped into a conversation and was leaning in to hear more. Tears came to my eyes. And I truly love the idea of not trying to save the old reality but to build anew. For now, I am hoping it is enough that I bring this hope and intention to the table being laid for the future. If nothing else, so that others who know the next steps will not feel alone.
