Chapter 33 below, tells the story of when Jamie and I moved back to Sydney in 1998, after living and working for seven years in New York City.
In present-day time, I want to offer kind of a disclaimer: while these years back in Sydney of 1998-1999 were perhaps two of the most challenging years in my life — in part due to my own self-delusion, and also partly due to the overly enmeshed relationship I had with my mother — these days I have a wonderful relationship with Mum with healthy boundaries, and she’s still as sharp as a tack at the age of 86.
