Good morning beloved reader,

Below continues the serialization of PART TWO of the book, The Rising of the Divine Feminine and the Buddhist Monks Across the Road: A Memoir.

In this chapter I explore the relationship between my restrained, paradoxical, upper-class English father and myself as a wild and free Aussie kid growing up in Pittwater, in addition to our family having a year abroad in Paris.

This chapter, once again, shows the healing power of writing memoir.

I had shared all of Part Two of my manuscript with Dad before he passed in 2022.

You’ll read below that while growing up, I didn’t feel loved by my father. But during his dying process, Dad repeatedly told me that he loved me. I had the sense that after reading my manuscript, he wanted to make sure that I knew he loved me, even if while growing up, he may not have known how to show it.

Through the process of writing memoir, and plenty inner work, I’ve come to understand that his impaired ability to show love was not about me …
