I think that the rich experiences, the cultural ones especially, help to build resilience and hope and determination to create more sense and good in the world.

I would LOVE to go to Spain! It may interest you to know that Barcelona is one of the major hot-spots for skating around the world because of the cities unique architecture. Which equal parts beautiful and enticing to skate hehe.

Also, it’s always wonderful to be moved by art in the way you describe in this piece. I feel that’s a part of what makes some ‘real’ art — it inspires reflection and wonder in the viewer. :)

100% agree Michael, and I look forward to when you write about your skating trip to Barcelona😁❤️🙏🏼🕊

having led under fascist France in the 1970s, Barcelona and all of Spain is a lush land of passions. Dictatorshipsucks, my heart is for democracy, So I'm hopeful!

"Spain is a lush land of passions" Yes! and their passionate intensity is reflected in their food, art, and especially Flamenco😁❤️🙏🕊️

p.s. Jill - I sent you a note asking about your book, The Elephant in the Room - Amazon says it's out of print and they don't offer the ebook edition. I was wondering if you have asked your publisher, Global Publishing Group, to make it available as an ebook?

I'm also wondering if your card game, Esteem Architecture, may be available anywhere?

Loved the art and your commentary. The museo's--not so much.

Thank you Jeanine! I can understand if you're not a fan of museums - I was definitely overwhelmed by the quantity of pieces we saw. There was just so much. But I was still happy to get to stand in front of some of the greats I'd read about at school❤️🙏🏼🕊

Oh no! I Love museums!! A lot! I meant their commentary re women that you quoted. So sorry I didn’t make myself clear!

Oh, I gotcha now. thanks for the clarification😁

And yes, I find it fascinating how our cultures have been so dominated by patriarchal perspectives, that we women have unconsciously had to develop our own Inner Patriarch to survive and work in the culture (Sidra Stone's book, The Shadow King, delves deeply into this subject which I write about here: https://camillasanderson.substack.com/p/the-inner-patriarch).

And even though the 'orange one' and all those who elected him may prefer to go backwards, once people have awoken even just a little bit to the unconscious forces in our culture, we cannot un-see what we have seen. So whether those who elected the orange one like it or not, the consciousness of the human species will continue to evolve.

Agreed. I write about the Maya civilization and the conquest made both Maya and Aztec cultures go underground. With the Maya, for 3 centuries! The Caste War of Yucatán began 1843 roughly after Montejo entered the peninsula in 1543. Caste war lasted til 1915!! On another note, have you read When the Drummers were Women, by Layne Redmond? A spiritual goddess in Mexico turned me onto it. Tells of our matriarchal society before the priests and church tore it from us. I’ll check out your rec, thanks.

Yes, thank you! I read on the Betwixt Substack, your recommendation of When the Drummers were Women, by Layne Redmond and have downloaded an e-book sample. I've also already recommended it to a friend who is a drummer😁❤️🙏🕊️

Lately I have been keenly paying attention to art, writing, myths, paradigms, etc. in the sense of whose eyes and hands created it. What is the perspective and why? What is the foundation it is build on. Fascinating the audio narration for Picasso’s Woman in Blue. Very telling. It filled me both with anger and freedom. Anger is obvious, but the freedom and joy came from the recognition that I can see beyond the veil.

I'm sensing a shift in you Julie! I love the freedom and joy. Congrats to you for 'seeing beyond the veil' - that's a beautiful and liberating expression that 100% points towards that freedom and joy❤️🙏🕊️ I loved your recent post too, "Lilith or Eve: What if we could be both, creating a new story." We get to write the new stories and I love how Substack gives us the platform to do it✨🧚‍♀️🤸‍♀️🌼🌷🌈🌺🪷💕☀️ 😎💃🕺☯️🥰✨🌟💖🙏🕊️😘

Nice to read a good write-up of our neighbours. Madrid is 6 hours drive from where we are in Portugal.

Regarding Trump, I can't figure why any women voted for him.

Thanks so much for reading and responding Joshua. Portugal is on our list to visit - we want to do an e-bicycle tour through your beautiful country❤️🙏🏼🕊

A lot of Portugal is quite mountainous (Alantejo excluded). If you're in Monchique (Algarve, half-way up a mountain, amazing views, spa town, with the best café "Velochique"), stay at Davina & Simon's 'Quinta da Alta Vista'.
