Hello beloved reader,
I listen to a lot of Eckhart Tolle talks as I find that just the act of listening to him keeps me in the present moment and stops internal thought chatter. Whether that be positive or negative thought chatter, sometimes I just enjoy it when my mind embodies a space of silence. A space between the thoughts.
Sometimes I get this space of silence with meditation or spiritual practice, and sometimes I like to get it by listening to Ecky. And I want to share this with you that I recently heard him say:
The past, everything dissolves and it becomes the past, which is a memory of the present moment, in the Now.(1)
You talk about the past, you’re remembering something that happened, but when it happened, it was the Now. And it’s still the Now.
But that absorbs human attention completely for unawakened humans.
My past, it’s my life. And you look back on your past, and you come to some kind of conclusion about yourself and your identity and your life. Mmm, well, that’s …
