Good morning beloved reader,
I’m sharing with you a brief “nugget” this morning.
I just read and enjoyed a NYT article: Rosh Hashana Can Change Your Life (Even if You’re Not Jewish) by Dr. David DeSteno, and thought you may enjoy it too: this is a gift link.
I especially loved this:
“But the particular brilliance of Rosh Hashana is that
it combines thoughts of death with a new year’s focus on a fresh start.”
I Googled Dr. David DeSteno and he has a podcast called, How God Works: The Science Behind Spirituality, which says:
While religion and science often seem at odds, there’s one thing they can agree on:
people who take part in spiritual practices tend to live longer, healthier, and happier lives.
The big question is: Why?
To read a story about establishing one’s own spiritual practice, please read Chapter 9. Courage, New Hampshire, October 2012 from The Rising of the Divine Feminine and the Buddhist Monks Across the Road: A Memoir.
Many blessings to you during this time of the Jewish New …
