Greetings Beloved Reader,
I’m feeling called to share with you the below chapter from my book, The Rising of the Divine Feminine and the Buddhist Monks Across the Road: A Memoir, which I have been serializing here on Substack.
Writing memoir requires one to be aware of the differences in the roles of the author, the narrator, and the character. As the author, I am creating the experience for you my dear reader: in this chapter, by investigating the emotions that arise in the space of time between biopsy surgery and diagnosis. In this respect, memoir is not about “me,” but it is about the universal themes in our human experience, that the stories from my life happen to illustrate. As the narrator, I’m bringing you along with me on this journey. Perhaps acting as a kind of guide. And as the character, the “I” that is written, is the “I” that is having the experience.
